Academics, history and the psychology of clothing are concepts that get pushed to the side in the fashion world that are extremely important to understand why people wear what they do. Popular clothing didn't become popular for absolutely no reason at all.

While getting my apparel technology degree in Olds College I noticed this missing space. We wear clothing every single day. There's fashion for mechanics, for teachers, and for farmers, but not many people consider or even think about this as being fashion. It's important to consider why you put on coveralls--to dress like a feminist of the 40's-- or a dress with a fitted bodice--to represent and express the feminine from of the feminists of the 90's.

There's a reason to the cut that clothing has, the material it's made from, to the patterns that re printed on. They weren't made up for no reason.
